A Fav Icon is a picture which is saved with the url of a  website, when the web site is saved to a visitor's favorites.  It allows the visitor to gain a visual/graphical memory of the site's url.   To see the site with the Icon, select a site with an * above and save it to your favorites list.  When you use your favorites to access the site, you will see the icon in your url window.
